I am looking outside at the pouring down rain, remembering the previous weeks sunshine. It seems like such a distant memory. A twisted little tease of things to come. I am ready for spring. I have lattice to put up. A nice grouping of plants and flowers waiting for pots and miracle grow on the back deck and freshly weeded and edged flower beds. Its time. I am done waiting. Growing and living in the Pacific Northwest I can appreciate grilling in the rain, hiking in the rain, yard work in the rain and even washing the car in the rain but my spring time yearnings are making me just a little stir crazy. I want to feel the new fresh shoots of grass between my toes. I want to dig the warm dirt out from under my nails and smell the honeysuckle. I want to watch the robins and red winged black birds dive in and out of the bird feeders. I am ready for spring. I am waiting.
